PTS Rentals offers reliable auto transfer switch rentals for seamless, safe power transitions between utility and generator sources.
Renting an automatic transfer switch (ATS) from PTS Rentals means you get a dependable piece of equipment that seamlessly switches your load from primary power to backup power—like a generator—during an outage, and then back again when utility power is restored. Our ATS rentals are designed for quick integration into your power setup, reducing risk and downtime on construction sites, events, emergency applications or temporary installations. With full delivery, setup, and support available from PTS Rentals, you’ll get the right switch solution without large capital purchase, and we’ll handle all maintenance and logistics so you can focus on operations.
Transfer switches allow switching from a primary power source to a secondary or tertiary power source and are employed in some electrical power distribution systems. Most often transfer switches can be seen where emergency power generators are used to back up power from the utility source. The transfer switch allows safely switching from utility power to emergency generator power while maintaining isolation of each source from the other.
The automatic transfer switch shall be electrically operated and mechanically interlocked to provide a safe and reliable means of transferring loads between normal and emergency power sources. The device shall be rated for continuous duty and designed for operation under all environmental and electrical conditions typically encountered in commercial and industrial applications.
The transfer switch shall consist of a double-throw, mechanically interlocked contact mechanism with a microprocessor-based controller. All power contacts shall be silver alloy for maximum conductivity and arc resistance. The enclosure shall be fabricated from heavy-gauge steel, powder-coated for corrosion protection, and available in NEMA 1, 3R, 4, or 4X ratings as required.
The mechanism shall provide a smooth, positive transfer under load without excessive noise or vibration. Mechanical interlocks shall prevent simultaneous connection of both power sources. The operating time shall be adjustable for in-phase transfer and programmed delays.
